A Day in the Life: Keeping Manufactured Homes Comfortable with Mr. Chill

Rise and Shine: Starting the Day Right

As a technician for Mr. Chill Heating & Air, my day begins early. I grab my work orders and head out to my first appointment. Today, I’m focusing on servicing HVAC systems in manufactured homes, a specialty of ours.

Morning: Tackling Unique Challenges

Manufactured homes present distinct challenges when it comes to heating and cooling. My first stop is at a double-wide home with an aging central air system. I perform a thorough inspection, noting:

  • Ductwork condition
  • Insulation quality
  • Thermostat functionality
  • Overall system efficiency

After diagnosing a refrigerant leak, I explain the situation to the homeowner and proceed with the repair.

Midday: Education and Customer Service

Lunchtime rolls around, but there’s no rest for the weary! I use this opportunity to educate a client about proper maintenance for their manufactured home’s HVAC system. We discuss:

  • Regular filter changes
  • The importance of annual tune-ups
  • Energy-saving tips specific to manufactured homes

Afternoon: Troubleshooting and problem-solving

The afternoon brings a challenging call – a manufactured home with uneven heating. After a thorough investigation, I discover that the home’s belly wrap is damaged, allowing cold air to infiltrate. I coordinate with the office to schedule a repair and provide a temporary solution to keep the homeowner comfortable.

Evening: Wrapping Up and Looking Ahead

As the day winds down, I complete my final service call and head back to the office. I update my work orders, restock my truck, and prepare for tomorrow’s adventures. Working for Mr. Chill Heating & Air means every day brings new challenges and opportunities to help our community stay comfortable in their manufactured homes.
