A Day in the Life: Keeping Homes Comfortable at M and M Heating, AC, Plumbing & Electrical

Rise and Shine: Starting the Day

As a technician at M and M Heating, AC, Plumbing & Electrical, my day begins early. I’m up at 6 AM, ready to tackle whatever challenges the day might bring. After a quick breakfast, I grab my travel mug filled with coffee and head out to the office.

Morning Briefing

At 7:30 AM, we gather for our daily team meeting. Our dispatcher runs through the day’s appointments, and we discuss any ongoing projects or potential issues. Today, I’m assigned three AC repair calls and one new installation consultation.

On the Road

By 8 AM, I’m in my company van, stocked with tools and parts, heading to my first appointment. It’s a residential AC repair job. The homeowner reported their system isn’t cooling properly. After a thorough inspection, I discover a refrigerant leak, which I promptly repair.

Midday: Troubleshooting and Lunch

My next two appointments involve:

  • Replacing a faulty capacitor in an older AC unit
  • Cleaning a clogged condensate drain line

Between jobs, I grab a quick lunch in my van, reviewing notes for my afternoon consultation.

Afternoon: Consultation and Wrap-up

The last appointment of the day is a consultation for a new AC installation. I discuss options with the homeowner, explaining the benefits of energy-efficient models and providing a detailed quote.

Back at the office by 5 PM, I complete my paperwork, restock my van, and prepare for tomorrow’s assignments.
